Kate Herrera Jenkins ’98 (music therapy) has brought Iron Tribe Fitness, a gym dedicated to changing lives through nutrition and functional fitness, to downtown New Orleans. The gym has been so well-received that a second location is slated to open in Metairie later this year. In addition, she owns Kiva Hot Yoga in Birmingham, Ala., a yoga studio that has been open since 2011. She helped create a strong yoga community in Birmingham and has been a Lululemon Athletica ambassador for the Southeast region for the past four years. She also just started a nonprofit, Native Strength Revolution, which will bring yoga, functional fitness, and nutrition education to Native Americans/First Nations reservations in the U.S. and Canada.
