Local soprano, Angela Mannino, makes her "MET" debut this Saturday, May 8 in the Berg opera, Lulu.
This New York debut follows the completion of her two year contract with
the Lyric Opera of Chicago as a young artist where she performed in numerous operas including Lulu.
Angela's vocal background began in grammar school at St. Christopher School in Metairie and continued at Mt. Carmel Academy. She completed her undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance from Loyola University in New Orleans and earned her Masters in Music from Indiana University.
Many locals will also remember Angela's years of performing in local musical theater productions including NORD Theatre, JPAS and Ricky Graham's productions. In recent years, Angela has also appeared several times with the New Orleans Opera.
Future performances include the lead soprano role (Fiorilla) in this summer's featured opera, Il Turco in Italia, at the prestigious Wolf Trap Performing Arts Festival in Virginia.
