In October of 2015, Flor Serna was selected as one of the nominees for the Ada Lovelace Woman of the Year in NOLA Tech Award.
In response to the male-dominated audio engineering field, Flor founded Electric Girls, a non-profit dedicated to educating and empowering women to become fearless and skilled leaders in electronics, audio, programming, and design. Electric Girls has since been recognized on a national scale by CNN, Fast Company, The Huffington Post, and Forbes. Through Launch, a three-month incubator program, Flor hopes to help early-stage educational entrepreneurs propel promising ideas for the future of school.
