Whether you are a film fanatic or simply just looking for something to do with friends on a Sunday, I am happy to introduce you to your new favorite campus activity! Film screenings are taking place on the 4th floor of the Music and Communication Complex, Room 402 every Sunday starting at 12:30 p.m.!
This student-led initiative was created by Digital Filmmaking Major and Theater & Voice Minor, Giovanni Staricco. Gio explains his inspiration for creating a weekly film screening for the Loyola community, “There are so many streaming services nowadays that it can get expensive to watch movies and a group of people watching a movie together creates a theater-like environment. I wanted to start screening films so that I and other students could watch more movies. There are so many beautiful films that I’ve yet to watch and I wanted to create a place where people could come together to watch things for free”.
Doors open around 12:15 p.m. and you are welcome to sit wherever you’d like. You are more than welcome to bring snacks, friends, or anything else that you would like to help yourself get settled in to watch a movie. Your only job is to get comfortable and enjoy the movie!
So if you are looking for something to do on campus on the weekends or interested in watching a movie in a theater-like environment without having to spend any money – consider coming this Sunday!
