The School of Communication and Design is on the third and fourth floors of the Communications/Music Complex at Loyola University New Orleans. All students have access to state-of-the-art computer laboratories that include powerful graphic computers to work on print, design, advertising, public relations and visual communication projects.

Known on campus as the Digital Communication Hub, Loyola’s video and audio transmission facility brings breaking news, exciting updates and world-class research to the world. Any time news happens, we are prepared to bring fast and easy access to our faculty experts, administrators, staff and researchers — allowing media outlets from around the globe to report the news quickly without leaving the office. Center for Environmental Communication

The mission of the center is to educate students in the field of environmental communication, to stimulate communications among environmental stakeholders, to provide the public with unbiased discussion of environmental issues, and to be a resource to the media for environmental information. Its popular Institute of Environmental Communications (IEC) brings together a diverse group of citizens (environmentalists, scientists, journalists, industrialists, Brown Field community people, politicians, government employees, teachers, business persons, and the like) for 14-20 evening sessions to discuss issues of vital environmental importance to the region and the nation. Shawn M. Donnelley Center for Nonprofit Communications

The Shawn M. Donnelley Center for Nonprofit Communications links nonprofit organizations needing assistance with their advertising, public relations, and integrated communication with students who can provide such assistance under faculty supervision. Students gain real-world, hands-on experience, and nonprofit organizations with limited funds get professional communication strategies and materials. Learn more about the Shawn M. Center for the Study of New Orleans

Building on the scholarly resources of Loyola University, the Center for the Study of New Orleans promotes research into the city’s history, culture and society. By integrating social justice and analytical thinking into courses, internships, research and public programming, the Center fosters a critical understanding of New Orleans and an opportunity to aid its renewal.
