Do you aspire to learn how to record, produce, and master modern music on a professional level? If so, Loyola's Urban & Electronic Music Production program is the place for you.

The first program of its kind in the United States, our Bachelor of Science in Urban & Electronic Music Production degree is designed to immerse you in the worlds of modern hip-hop, R&B, and EDM from your very first semester. With our state-of-the-art facilities, industry-recognized and Grammy®-winning faculty, and comprehensive curriculum, you’ll learn exactly how each component of the music industry works, as well as how to create a radio-ready track. Our distinguished faculty of musicians, music producers, musician managers, venue owners, entertainment attorneys, and chart-topping songwriters will draw upon their real-world experiences to help you master key industry concepts such as production, technology, recording, management, event production, marketing, publishing, distribution, and legal issues.

Featured Alum: G-Eazy

A Berkeley, California native, Gerald Gillum graduated from Loyola’s Music Industry Studies program and has achieved enormous commercial success in the hip-hop world through his stage name G-Eazy. Gerald has opened for chart-topping artists such as Drake, Lil Wayne, and Snoop Dogg, and his sophomore album, When It’s Dark Out, debuted in 2015. The following year, his hit single ‘Me, Myself, & I’ peaked at number 7 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

Urban & Electronic Music Production Faculty

State-of-the-Art Recording Studios

Currently, Loyola boasts four (4) different audio recording studios, two (2) television/film studios, a fully-stocked equipment checkout office, a Mac-based video editing suite, and a Mac-based MIDI music technology lab. We also have access to Loyola University’s new 330-capacity Nunemaker Auditorium, where we host our Arts & Entertainment Industry Forum, as well as guest speakers and events.
