Director of Operations and Technology Instructor, Audio Technology

FAMIS Director of Operations and Technology Jay Crutti has worked as an audio engineer in the New Orleans area for over eighteen years. An alum of the Music Industry Program, Jay graduated from Loyola in 2002 and was subsequently hired by the university’s Loyola Department of Information Technology. During his time at the department, he built and supervised music technology facilities, including the university’s multimedia training center.

Starting in 2006, Jay worked within the College of Music and Fine Arts as Coordinator of Technology, managing all technical production facilities. In 2015, he joined FAMIS exclusively as Director of Operations and Technology. Currently, Jay supervises the department’s recording studios, television studios, and the university’s radio station, Crescent City Radio. He also serves as faculty advisor to student audio, video, and live sound production companies. Since 2004, Jay has taught courses in digital audio production and audio technology. In addition to his duties at Loyola, Jay serves as head of the live recording and studio consulting divisions of the New Orleans Music Exchange, a professional audio retailer and installation company.
