GARRETT BRADLEY

Instructor, Digital Filmmaking

New Orleans-based filmmaker Garrett Bradley has achieved considerable success in her young career. So far, the native New Yorker has received the Artadia Prospect 3 Artist Award, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association Award, The Lynn Weston Fellowship, The Motion Picture Association of America Award, and the Mary Pickford Award.

In 2014, Garrett debuted her first feature-length film, Below Dreams, at the renowned TriBeCa Film Festival. The film won accolades for its poetic realism and cinematography, including IndieWire’s Critics Picks for Best Narrative Feature, Best Director, and Best First Feature.

In 2016, Field of Vision commissioned Garrett to produce a short documentary, LIKE. She also released her second feature, Cover Me, for the International Arts Biennial Prospect 3. Since its release, the film has premiered at festivals around the world, including the 2016 SXSW Film Festival, the Los Angeles Film Festival, Rotterdam, Dokufest, and the 2017 Sundance Festival.

Garrett holds an M.F.A. in directing from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and a B.A. in religion from Smith College. In Spring 2017, she joined Loyola University’s digital filmmaking program, where she currently teaches courses in film production management and documentary filmmaking.
