Instructor, Music Industry Studies

Attorney Daniel Walter, an associate at Stone Pigman, represents clients primarily in the areas of partnership and corporate tax, federal and state tax credits and incentives, real estate and corporate transactions, executive compensation and general corporate matters. He is a Tax Law Specialist, certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. Prior to commencing his legal career, he worked as a pension actuary for a major human resources consulting firm and owned and operated a music venue in New Orleans. In his business practice, he uses his legal and entrepreneurial experience to advise clients on both the corporate and tax aspects of the entire lifecycle of their businesses. He also focuses on all aspects of federal and state tax credits and incentives.

Daniel currently volunteers with the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic and the ELLA (Entertainment Law Legal Assistance) project, assisting clients with various tax issues including tax liens and wage garnishments, negotiating payment plans with tax authorities, and representing clients in the United States Tax Court. He is a member of the American and Louisiana State Bar Associations, and joined Loyola in 2015, where he teaches the Music Industry Studies capstone course, Music Industry Senior Seminar.
