About John Williamson
John Williamson is a Chicago-based music industry entrepreneur and executive best known as a co-founder and former Chief Operations Officer of Music Dealers. Music Dealers is a music licensing platform that aims to provide pre-cleared music, custom song creation, and major rights clearance for content creators in the advertising, television, film, and gaming industries. To date, Music Dealers has worked with Coca-Cola and numerous other Fortune 500 companies.
Together with Music Dealers partners Josh Kaplan and Rob Lindquist and Groupon first movers Matt Loseke and Jason Bowman, Williamson's latest venture is SongFinch, a service that creates custom professional-quality songs for users based on lyrics users provide. For $200, customers tell a story or share a memory and then a songwriter creates a song that’s delivered within a week through a shareable link.
