About Gerald “G-Eazy” Gillum
A Berkeley, California native, Gerald Gillum graduated from Loyola’s Music Industry Studies program and has achieved enormous commercial success in the hip-hop world through his stage name G-Eazy. Gerald began producing tracks during his time as a Loyola undergrad, though his obsession with music, and specifically hip-hop, began long before this during his childhood in the Bay Area.
Gillum has opened for chart-topping artists such as Drake, Lil Wayne, and Snoop Dogg, and his sophomore album, When It’s Dark Out, debuted in December of 2015. The first single off of the new album, ‘Me, Myself, & I’ was released online in October, and features Bebe Rexha (who wrote Rihanna and Eminem’s hit “Monster”) on vocals. In 2016, ‘Me, Myself, and I’ peaked at number 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
About Matt Bauerschmidt
Best known as the manager and marketing force behind G-Eazy, alum Matt Bauerschmidt owns and operates The Revels Group, an artist and tour management company based in Los Angeles and New Orleans. Revels currently manages or manages tours for clientele such as Drake, The Used, Mindless Behavior, and Kai. he Revels Group also has an in-house promotion team for venues and events, and has worked with New Orleans institutions such as Republic and Club Ampersand, Southern Rep, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Matt spoke at Austin’s 2014 South By Southwest festival, giving a talk about his experiences promoting and managing G-Eazy and how he created a hip-hop super-star with millions of video views, hundred of thousands of digital downloads, and sold-out tours without major label support. Recently, Matt partnered with Billboard ‘40 under 40’ honorees Cortez Bryant and Gee Roberson, known as the management team for hip-hop heavyweights such as Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and T.I.
