About Alex Rawls
Alex Rawls in a New Orleans-based writer who has covered music, arts, books, and food in the city since 1990. His work has appeared in The Times-Picayune, Gambit, and Offbeat Magazine. Alex also has freelanced for Spin, Rolling Stone, Essence, The Los Angeles Times, The San Diego Union-Tribune, as well as numerous alternative weekly publications. His website, My Spilt Milk, covers music, art, and culture in New Orleans, including rock, hip-hop, EDM, jazz, funk, Cajun, and zydeco.
Alex earned his Master's degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from the University of New Orleans, and also conducts interviews for the "Ogden After Hours" series at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art.
