Award-Winning Filmmaker Garrett Bradley Joins Filmmaking Faculty

FAMIS proudly announces the addition of documentary filmmaker Garrett Bradley to our roster of filmmaking faculty. A native of New York, Garrett debuted her first feature-length film, Below Dreams, at the renowned TriBeCa Film Festival in 2014.  The film won accolades for its poetic realism and cinematography, including IndieWire’s Critics Picks for Best Narrative Feature, Best Director, and Best First Feature.

In 2016, Field of Vision commissioned Garrett to produce a short documentary, LIKE. She also released her second feature, Cover Me, for the International Arts Biennial Prospect 3. Since its release, the film has premiered at festivals around the world, including the 2016 SXSW Film Festival, the Los Angeles Film Festival, Rotterdam, Dokufest, and the 2017 Sundance Festival.

Garrett holds an M.F.A. in directing from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and a B.A. in religion from Smith College. In her career so far, she has received the Artadia Prospect 3 Artist Award, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association Award, The Lynn Weston Fellowship, The Motion Picture Association of America Award, and the Mary Pickford Award.
