FAMIS is thrilled to welcome music supervisor Sarah Bromberg to our community this spring, where she will teach MUIN-M335 Music Supervision. A New Orleans native who also spends much of her time in New York City, Sarah Bromberg is a music supervisor and music coordinator for film and television. Her credits include The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, Smash, Time Out of Mind, Pump, One More Time, Pitch Perfect 2, Max, and The Affair. Most recently, Sarah worked as an associate music supervisor on the Netflix-produced drama series, The Get Down, which centers on the birth of New York hip-hop in the 1970s. This series boasts one of the largest music budgets of any television series ever made.
Music supervisors act as liaisons between the creative and business ends of selecting and licensing music for films, television shows, commercials, film trailers, video games, and other visual media. In the modern music industry, the royalties involved with this process have become an increasing part of artist and label revenue streams.
