FAMIS is pleased to announce the addition of another talented entertainment professional to our roster of full-time faculty: Tim Kappel, entertainment attorney. A graduate of Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, Tim represents a diverse set of music industry clients, including artists, songwriters, musicians, producers, managers, publishers, and independent record labels. As counsel to the law firm Farmer Purcell White & Lassiter, PLLC, he focuses primarily in the areas of entertainment and intellectual property law.
In addition to his entertainment practice, Tim represents technology start-ups and other small businesses in connection with their intellectual property and branding needs, and is frequently consulted on the legal issues involved with crowdfunding in the creative industries. Currently, he divides his time between Farmer Purcell’s Nashville office and New Orleans.
In his new role, Tim will teach the core Arts & Entertainment Legal Issues I and Arts & Entertainment Finance courses, in addition to law-oriented electives as necessary.
