Instructor, Piano

A versatile pianist, performer, and educator, Emily Fransen has performed at locations around New Orleans, including the Saint Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church, the Sunset Sundays concert series at Lakeview Presbyterian Church, and a performance in an Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra-sponsored master class with world-renowned composer and performer, Stephen Hough.

Emily currently serves as an instructor of piano at Loyola University New Orleans, where she teaches Piano I for the Popular and Commercial Music program, and at the University of New Orleans, where she teaches several courses in music history and recently performed as part of a faculty recital. Since 2005, she has taught students as a master teacher and Academy Director at the Hall Piano Company in Metairie, LA.

Emily graduated in 2013 with a Master of Piano Performance degree from Loyola University New Orleans, where she had also earned her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Music Industry Studies in 2008. She also is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Greater New Orleans Music Club, where she acts as president. In 2013, she founded the Lynn Celestin Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Steinway Society of New Orleans, which has now benefited three local high school students studying piano at Hall Piano Company.
