M.U.S.E. will make its debut as an original Movement Piece inspired by individual and group conversations of 6 performing artists by applying the process: Meditate, Unpack, Synthesize, and Evolve. It is an introspective look at how life events influence perspective, the ability to form community and the desire to evolve. LIfe is our MUSE. How we move through it is based on our personal reactions, motivations or inspirations to situations and events. Join us on this movement journey to spiritual evolution.
M.U.S.E is directed by Loyola Theatre Arts & Dance Faculty Member, Kai Knight. As a choreographer, performer, and instructor, Knight is an active member in the New Orleans based cultural performance companies Kumbuka African Drum and Dance Collective and Bamboula 2000 Band. Knight is also the founder and director of Seasons Center which hosts multicultural programming that assists women, families, and communities by application of faith, education, and the performing arts. Her goal is to better provide individual, social, and community healing through the integration of faith into the performance arts and social work.
